- I earned my PhD from the University of Toronto (Pharmacology). My PhD research focused on the anticonvulsant mechanisms of the ketogenic diet, a high fat diet used to treat drug-resistant seizures. I sit on the Board of Directors for the University of Toronto Epilepsy Research Program (UTERP). I also sit on the Board for a UofT epilepsy student's group called SACEC (www.sacec.info). I am interested in epilepsy because it is a fascinating research topic- but I stay involved because I have a family member with epilepsy. In my spare time I play a lot of ultimate frisbee.
